    The suspended platform is extremely useful for rapid maintenance works in cases where it is easier to install the work platform support on the roof of the building, as opposed to erecting the scaffolding from the ground; these platforms therefore don’t obstruct gardens or footpaths, don’t trap residents of buildings and don’t serve as an incentive to thieves. Platforms are a genuine alternative to scaffolding as they allow easy access to all the building’s facades. The operating principle of these machines is based on that of the lever: a rear suspension beam counterbalanced by ballasts is what supports the suspended work platform. It follows therefore that the number of counterweights (which is specified in the tables in the manual) depends on the two lever arms and the load capacity of the platform itself. Given that weight is an important factor, suspended scaffolds are lightweight and made in aluminium; the supporting elements such as the brackets are made from galvanized steel. These are CE certified machines that do not require a safety plan in each worksite in order to be used.
